- SPIRIT OF THE WILD’: CONCEPT
‘Spirit of the Wild’ is the title of the latest series of my paintings – based on ‘Wildlife’ or rather ‘Prehistoric Wildlife’.
Also, this series of paintings is connected with one of the two art project concepts now ready to be launched under the theme ‘Enhance Leisure/ Tourism Environment through Fine Arts Combined with Nature’– ‘Imaginary Figures with Prehistoric Resemblance’. The ‘Hidden Characteristics of the Wild’ or else the ‘Spirit of the Wild’ is/are envisaged in these paintings and the ‘Element of Curiosity’ introduced into the creative work adding to the theme.
- ‘SPIRIT OF THE WILD’: PAINTING TYPE/ MEDIUM: Oil on Canvas, Water Color on Paper
- ‘SPIRIT OF THE WILD’: PAINTING STYLE: Abstract/ Cubist
- ‘SPIRIT OF THE WILD’: PAINTING TECHNIQUE: BRUSH WORK: Different Textures, impressions and Shapes
Numerous and different ‘brush strokes and impressions’ used are an attempt to explore new possibilities and promote this “old technique” of painting, in an era where many paintings are being done using other techniques.
The Greek word for painting – ‘Tsographiki’ means “to draw with paint using the brush”. The objective or in other words the attempt is to come up or to invent a ‘new approach to painting’ – ‘using the old brush but present it in a more contemporary manner’.
- ‘SPIRIT OF THE WILD’: VEHICLE: MOVEMENT AND RHYTHM
‘Brush strokes and impressions’ with different characteristics, also different curves and more straight lines with colours and textures are in juxtaposition. An attempt is made to cause them to ‘rhyme – visually’, to produce parallelism of verse and poetry. ‘Movement and Rhythm’, is sought and expect to result as in performing arts. Interesting shapes and forms are thereby created.
Expected outcome is a work of art which offers pleasant, at the same time ‘curious and surprise visual experience’, related to the theme – ‘Spirit of the Wild’.
